Good Morning friends. Its World Filled Wednesday and I am so blessed to share with you a book I am reading from Kay Arthur, Emilie Barnes & Donna Otto called “Youniquely Woman, Becoming Who God Designed You to Be”.

As I read the first chapter this morning I can so relate to Kay, Emilie & Donna as I am sure you will be able to as well.

A Goal an a Legacy

“Knowing what I know now…”Have you heard older people talk like that? “Knowing what I know now…..

*I would have done things better…..
*I would have grabbed that opportunity….
*I would have reacted differently….
*I would have run from that place as fast as I could….
*I would have stayed in school….
*I would have married someone else….
*I would have been more patient and kind….
*I would have spent more time with my son….my daughter.”

Certainly there are many things I would like to do over and year I’d like to live over:

*I would shun those destructive paths I allowed myself to walk
*I would hold my tongue and not speak those unloving words
*I would guard my thoughts and rein in my dreams
*I wouldn’t have divorced my husband
I would have asked my sons how they were feeling and focused more on them than on trying to find a husband

If you dont Kay Arthur she is a divorced mother of 2 sons and was always longing for love. She fell into immorality but was gloriously saved by Jesus Christ at age 29. She did remarry and serves God. She says she is an older woman with a young woman trapped inside. She wished she had been far more intentional as a wife, mother & grandmother. “Im deliberately using the word “intentional”. Its not a word you see very often. When I speak of living in an intentional way, I mean Living on Purpose. Living a life directed by goals and principles and precepts so I will get the most out of life and have few regrets in the years to come. And that’s what this book is all about.

When we all look back we can see that the Gods Word has taught us many things through heartache and tribulations in our lives, just like he said we would. But through His grace we make it through. We can learn alot from Kay, Emilie, & Donna through this amazing book. Kay loves the word of apostle Peter:

2 Peter 1:3 “His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence”

When it comes to being a woman, a daughter of the living God, we are called to excellence. And this is our desire for you. We want you to be like the women described in Proverbs 31:29 “”Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all.” How do you achieve excellence? By living intentionally and by remembering that God’s divine power makes it possible.

We have a good intention to live life the way God wants us to but we let life get in the way, or we let ourselves get caught up in daily pressures. Not realizing that what we do now will effect how we live later.

Kay says “There an old saying. “What I am to be, I am now becoming.” AS with many such sayings, it contains truth and error. What it’s really saying is that the choices I am making today will have a choose now leads to where I am going. That’s so true. The apostle Paul says much the same thin in Galatians 6:7-8 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”

But its also true that there are both immediate and long-term benefits of chossing the right paths, the right sources of wisdom… and these choices can absolutely flood our lives with the grace, kindness, mercy, and bounty of o ur God who loves us with all His great heart. Live accordingly, and when you stumble, get back up, ask God’s forgiveness, and keep moving forward.

A married woman can have no higher callings than being a Godly wife & mother. The world will tell you that driving race cars, piloting jumbo jets, climbing the corporate ladder, earning piles of money will bring the most satisfaction. And for a single woman those goals may certainly be within reach but for a married woman who loves her husband, raises her children to know the Lord, and makes her home into a beautiful, peaceful sanctuary in this hostile world…. that, my daughter, is the best of the best.

The Bible tells us its possible to live life with excellence, to live an uncommon life, and to be used of God beyond our expectations and dreams. Lets explore and experience those things. (Italic is my wording and other is Kay’s wording)

These words today really spoke to my heart that no matter where we are in life we can get back up and start again. That our purpose is to take care of our husbands & children making our homes warm, safe & inviting. We will also stand out to others, our life might look insane to them but we know we are living for God and this is what he commands of us.

As you read these words today meditate hard on them and see where the Lord will have you change things in your own home or improve on things to glorify Him. We together can Live Intentionally for Christ.
