Good Morning friends. Its World Filled Wednesday and I am so blessed to share with you a book I am reading from Kay Arthur, Emilie Barnes & Donna Otto called “Youniquely Woman, Becoming Who God Designed You to Be”.

Home. Its a beautiful word to most of us.It speaks comfort, acceptance, relaxation, and love. Its a warm safe place to be and a good place to grow up. A place where most of us would love to live even if we never had those kinds of experiences before. As believers we are called to look at our homes the way God sees them— as vital centers to teach His truth and model His ways…. as holy ground.

What is the first thing you do when you enter your home after a long day of running errands or keeping appointments or chasing after your kids? I’m talking about that moment after you put down your purse or the groceries but before you check for any messages. If you are like a lot of women you take off your shoes.

Why? Taking off your shoes. It’s such a relaxed, homey thing to do. It’s an action you take in place where you feel safe and accepted. What does taking off your shoes have to with a “holy ground” vision for a home and finding your purpose as a wife & mother? Maybe more then you think.

Encounter in the Desert
Do you remember the story of Moses and the burning bush? When Moses went to check out the bush the Lord spoke to him and said “Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground” Exodus 3:5 God wasn’t telling Moses to get comfortable. He was warning him that something important was going on and reminding him to show respect and humility in the presence of something sacred. And the Lord was also plainly telling His servant He has important work for him to do.

I beleive the Lord is speaking a similar word to women today who have the joy and responsibilty of tendig a home and caring for a family. “Take off your shoes,” He is saying. “The place where you are cooking, cleaning and raising the generation is indeed holy ground. You are Mind and your home is par of My plan for changing the world.”

Your home is holy ground because its where God has chosen to life and do His work. For more on this chapter please pick up this book. It is amazing.

This chapter really spoke to my heart about my home. It is suppose to be a safe and relaxing place for all of the family to dwell with a reflection of God. I am responsible for that. Home matters to God. An because it matters to Him, it should matter to us. John 14;2 says “In my fathers house are many rooms, If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?”

As a human being in whom God’s spirit dwells, you have that privilege. As a woman, as a wife, as a mother, you have a special set of gifts and responsibilities. You are called to create and maintain a home environment ad atmosphere that reflects God’s love, God’s hope, God’s peace. Quite literally, you build your home on holy ground.

My challenge to you is what can you do to insure your home is on holy ground? As Godly wives and mothers we set the home with Gods spirit within our families. Lets do it with God at the wheel.
