As I sit and meditate on the sacrifice that Jesus did for us today I am grateful that I am a child of God and that I am saved by the grace of God.

Take moment be silent and just take it all in. Let the Lord speak to you today as we sit and remember what today is truly about. Looking at Matthew 27 we remember:

the betrayal from Judas over 30 peaces of silver

the meeting with Pilate

the beating and the mocking

the crown of thorns

the shouts “Crucify Him”

the long walk through Golgotha carrying His own cross

the nails in His hands and feet

the sad words Jesus spoke “My God, My God why have you forsaken me?”

Jesus saying “It is finished”

We reflect on scripture when Jesus says in John 19:30 “It is finished” When I read this, it speaks deeply to my heart and the sacrifice that Jesus Christ did for us to have eternal life with him. When he says FINISHED, he means that all our sins, mine and yours are PAID IN FULL. No matter what you have done in your life NO sin is unforgivable. Are you reading thinking can he really forgive me? The answer is YES because in Romans 3:23 it says “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Taking a look in John 14 you can read Jesus promises to us. He starts out “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

It is comforting to know that God left to prepare a place for us and that he will come back for us. This scripture is what helps me get through the bad days when the devil really tries to work on me. Every day we can live knowing that the Lord is preparing a place for us and WILL be back for us soon.

John 14:6 says Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He explains to us how we get to God only through Him, Jesus Christ. He always has our best interested at heart and knowing this helps our love for Him grow deeper everyday.

Knowing that the Lord lives in us, through the Holy Spirit is another way to feel comfort in Gods promises to us.

Have you received Gods gift of salvation? Do you believe that he died, rose and lives today? If you have put your faith in Jesus Christ then your sins have been forgiven but if you have not done this, I John 5:12 says “you do not have eternal life.” Repent of your sins and ask Jesus into your heart. Once you receive Him your world will start to change. You will see everything with “new” eyes. You will understand the “true”I John 5:12 says you do not have eternal life. You will understand the “true” meaning of what Love is.

As I leave you tonight take a moment to look at what Jesus went through and see how much he Loves us not matter what burden we carry around He will forgive us. When we repent and take up His cross His plan will start to take form. Trusting in Him whole heartily is what THIS life is all about when we follow Him.

Be blessed all,
