My sweet friend Courtney over at Women Living Well is starting another amazing challenge for the month of December called “Peace On Earth Dec Challenge”. I am so excited to link up with her so that I may stay on track this holiday season.

Do you need some peace on earth during what can be a hectic holiday season? Take moment to check out her blog and watch her video to explain what this challenge is all about. We can succeed together.

Each week Courtney will give us one practical tip and one spiritual tip that will bring us peace here on earth during this hectic holiday season.

This week challenge is
Write at the top of your December calendar page – I Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” This will be a reminder every time you look at your calendar and feel anxious about all you have to get done – to pray. God cares for you. Release your worries to him and rest in him.

Also, go buy an extra large candle and light a candle everyday in your home in the month of December. I will be starting mine in the morning! But you can start yours at dinner time. I will be placing mine in the kitchen – the main hub of my home. Each time the candle catches your eye, say a prayer for peace in your home.

Dont let the hustle and bussal take you away from what this holiday is all about, the BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST and keeping our focus on HIM, not all the “stuff” we have to do all month.

I can tell you for our family that as of 3 years ago we have released alot of stress by NOT buying gifts for ourself. It was the best decision we made for our family. Our family truly gets “things” all year, why do we go in debt or over spend for a holiday that is about giving not receiving?

Now we serve in our community by picking off the Angel Tree, joining with our church in Gospel For Asia, having guest over to the house. It is all about the giving even if its small. This was hard at first however it got easier once the kids realized that we are giving for God.

Our plans for this holiday will be what are we giving away and how else we can serve in our community. Not much stress in that. I thank God everyday for these lessons not only for me but for my children too.

How will You find Peace on Earth this December?

Jesus said in John 14:27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled.”
