Friends please meet my new friend Janelle over at Comfy in The Kitchen. She will be featured every Tuesday with her amazing recipes for all occasions. Please take a moment to visit her blog for other amazing recipes.

I am not sure if any of you are like me but I did not grow up in the kitchen, sadly. My mom did not cook with me or better yet teach me how. It wasnt until I got married, 10 years ago, that I had to start cooking. After finding Janelle’s Blog she has help me feel like even though I didnt grow up in the kitchen I can still learn and make things my own. With her easy but tasty recipes I feel like I can do anything in the kitchen.

I hope she can help you as much as she has helped me!!! Love you Janelle!!

With the Holidays fast approaching what a great recipe to keep warm and your guest will fall in love with. Enjoy we have already tried this and will tell all the CHOCOLATE LOVERS, it is to die for!!!

Homemade Hot Cocoa —YUMMY!

There is nothing more comforting on a cool day than to walk into a nice warm home and be welcomed with a cup of homemade hot cocoa. This is a special treat I make for my children and my neighbors. It is simple and can be kept warm in the Crockpot. This recipe combines cocoa with chocolate chips to make it extra chocolaty.
I also add 1 container of cool whip to make it extra creamy.
Milk, cocoa, chocolate chips, hot water, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar and salt

In a med/large pot on the stove (med-high heat) pour in your hot water with sugar, cocoa powder, and salt-whisk well.
Add chocolate chips and whisk well until melted.
Add milk, vanilla, and cinnamon and whisk well.
Add an 8 oz container of cool whip- this makes it very creamy!!!

Transfer into a Crockpot on the lowest heat to keep warm.

When ready to serve, top with whipped cream or marshmallows. Ahhhhh….this is not your instant cocoa mix, my friends! This is a REAL treat….mmMMM….Enjoy!
