Matthew 6:20-21
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”

Every time we affirm our Trust in God, we put a coin into His treasury. We are building up equity in preparation for days of trouble. The more we trust Him, the more He empowers us to do so.

Staying in His Word keeps us 2 steps behind Him and on His path for our lives. Its the storms, and trials that we go through to prepare us for what God has in store for us. We can either resist it or jump in with both feet and trust God with all that we are.

As 2011 is under way I am reminded how much the Lord taught me in 2010 to completely surrender and trust in Him. It was not easy to hand my whole life over to Him, however when I did I could see Him working hard in my life to get me to the place that HE had for me.

This brings me to this post, to work hard staying 2 steps behind God I have put into play a schedule that I can stick to and not feel over whelmed by our every day life that I just had to share with all of you. I want to serve all the areas that God has in trusted me with and to do that priority has to take place.

The first week of every month I will be focusing on MARRIAGE, the second week I will be focusing on PARENTING, and the third week I will be focusing on MY walk with God, and the fourth week has not been revealed yet.

This is 12 weeks of marriage, 12 weeks of parenting, and 12 weeks of my personal walk to help stay 2 steps behind God all year long instead of trying to cram it into every single day . I will be sharing every week on Mondays how the Lord is help me grow in all the areas He has in trusted me with.

I hope that you will join me in this journey to stay 2 steps behind God in all the areas that He has in trusted us with.

Here are some tips to keep you on track and focused on this journey with God:

Start your morning in Prayer with God
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Jump into His Word on the topic you are studying that week.
Psalm 25:9 “He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.”

Implement what you are learning and go to God when you are frustrated or fall.

Joshua 1:8 says “Do not let this Book of the law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.”

As you can see trying to focus on all that God has in trusted you with all at one time, can get very over whelming. Practicing how you will stay 2 steps behind God helps us to stay on His path. Our busy lives can get in the way of us staying 2 steps behind however that is why God loves us NO matter how many times we fall off His path. Get up, dust yourself off, and return to 2 steps behind Him.

I am excited to see how the Lord will work in my life as well as all of yours in 2011. I need the accountability and will be blessed to anyone who will do this with me all year long.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”
