How Do You Know You Are TRULY Saved?

If you're new here, I would love to have you join our community. You can subscribe to my RSS feed or subscribe by email so you don't miss a thing!

My heart has been heavy this week. I have been struggling with this question,
“How do you know you are TRULY saved?
not because I dont know I am saved but because SO many other people are proclaiming “They are Christian”!
Why am I a Christian? How do we know we are TRULY saved?
As I ponder on those questions, my heart is troubled because some of you reading this or ones that we know could possibly be in hell oneday. Even some that call upon the Lord will spend eternity in hell. This saddens me dearly.

Why am I telling you this?

Because there are so many out there that are being deceived and think because they said the little prayer to ask Jesus into their heart, they are saved and going to heaven. (I was one of those that thought that little prayer saved me. It wasnt until someone loved me enough to share with me that having a personal relationship and faith in Jesus Christ, would I be saved.)

This is SIMPLY not true.
Acting just like the world. They are seeing people around them that are proclaiming to be “Christians” and they dont look any different then they do. They love all the things of the world (music, sensual dressing, tv shows, the way they talk, the way they act) with no change at all in them.  “They have NO concern of being Holy, serving others, attending church on a regular basis, being separate from the world. But they are saved because someone told them they were because they said a little prayer”~Paul Washer
Salvation comes through FAITH in Jesus Christ alone, followed by repentance, and turning away from sin. Hating what God hates and loving what God loves. A growing in Holiness and a desire not to be of this world but to be like Jesus Christ.
I hope when you read this the Lord convicts your heart in a way that you know that you are saved or not. Following the world is very dangerous, seeking God and His word is the only true way that one knows that they are Truly Saved!

This is where the articles “Does your life reflect Christ” and Does your life reflect Christ part 2 came from. I dont want to be like everyone else, I want to be like Jesus Christ. I dont want to BLEND in, I want to STICK out. I dont want ANY of you reading to blend in, I want YOU to stick out.

The only way I can help you stick out is to be HONEST WITH YOU and share with you what being a follower of Jesus Christ really looks like.

“STOP comparing yourself to others who call themselves Christians, compare yourself to SCRIPTURE!” ~Paul Washer
Scripture tells us to EXAMINE ourselves to see if we are in the faith.  2 Corinthians 13:5
How do we know we are saved?  Examine our self in these ways:
  • We are walking with God in righteous as a style of life. When we fall off path the Holy Spirit comes for us and puts us back on path.
  • We are growing in Holiness
  • In prayer all the time
  • Pray about EVERYTHING
  • Seek Gods will over every step we take
  • We know when the Holy Spirit is nudging at us
  • We are caution how we dress
  • We are attending church regularly
  • We carry evidence that Jesus lives inside us
  • We listen to what is Holy
  • We watch what is Holy
  • We stand out in the crowd
  • We test our selves to see that we are in the faith
  • We see what scripture says about EVERYTHING
  • We don’t take others word by comparing ourselves to them, we compare ourselves to God’s word
  • Our road is narrow, not broad
  • Our home is built on the Rock, not the Sand

Matthew 7:16-20 “By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them”

If you are reading this and you are not sure that you are saved, run to “2 Corinthians 13:5, get in prayer. Being saved is merely FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST, REPENTANCE, TURNING AWAY FROM SIN, DESIRE TO BE LIKE JESUS!  Not some little prayer that we say.
