Our  home is a safe haven, teaching grounds for our children.

Everything that we do behind close doors is molding our children for the future, are we following God ways in all parts of our home or just some?

Our children are like SPONGES and they watch our every move that we make, wrong or right they are taking it all in.

Here are some things that we do in our home to insure that the Lord is present in ALL parts of our home. Showing them that God is part of our family even though we cant see Him in the flesh.

“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8

Music
Worship music is always playing in our home. We are caution as to what we and our children are listening to. This helps keep the Lord in their thoughts all day and songs are so powerful for a conviction in areas we are weak. We also insure that worship music is on their ipods.

TV

We screen all movies before the children watch them. We dont watch much tv however when we do, it is together.

Pray
We pray over everything, small or big. The children see us praying and we pray with them. Letting them know that praying is apart of our life and speaking to the Lord. We teach them that we can take anything to the Lord, that He is always there to listen.

House Decor

We have pictures, posters, room decor that has Gods words all over them. Where ever they walk in the home they are reminded of God and His words. This helps in sketching His word on their hearts!

Fellowship
We have a family night, dad has a date with each child, and date night with me. This helps the children to learn that relationships are very important to nourish not matter what the cost.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Showing them Gods ways daily will be sketched on their hearts forever. They will take it with them when they leave the nest. For us, we feel it is important to insteal Gods ways now, so that when they are faced with friends that do things differently they will know that WE serve the Lord and follow His ways.

I dont want to be a one foot in, one foot out parent {Romans 12:2}. I want to be a ALL IN PARENT {Matthew 6:33}. One that seeks God for everything. Knowing Him and studying Him gives me the tools I need to teach my children all they need to know to head out in the world. Not compromising His way at all so that we look like the world. We want to stick out like soar thumbs.

This is what we want to teach our children. That fearing God and following His ways is the most important thing.

I would love to hear what you do in your home to insure that the Lord is present all the time. Have you compromised Gods ways by not taking a stand in all areas of your home?

John tell us in 1 John 1:9 “When we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. What a great promise He makes to us. So no matter where we are in our lives, we can stop and repent to Him and He will cleanse us. Take it to the cross sister, He is waiting!
