“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name”

Psalm 100:4

How many times do we take all that we have for granted?
How often are we unsatisfied with all that we have?
How often are we longing for more?
It’s very easy to become discontent in our lives and to feel as though we are missing out on something.  We are always wanting more and more.  Most of the things we want or think we need are all materialistic and of this world.  How many times do you find yourself praying for something instead of praying in thanksgiving for all that you already have?  Everything we have is from the Lord. We need come to Him with thanksgiving and praise, not just wanting and needing.  We need to constantly remember to be thankful and satisfied with what the Lord places in our lives. We need to remember all the things, people and circumstances, no matter how small or irrelevant they seem to us, were put in our lives for a reason.
Ephesians 5:20 says   “giving thanks always for ALL things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Something we want may not be what He has in mind for us.  His plan for us is greater than anything we can even imagine.

We are very quick to ask for something but how often do we really thank Him for ALL that we really have?

Did you wake up in a warm bed today?

Did you eat a meal?

Did you shower? With hot water?

Did you brush your hair?

Did someone tell you they love you?

Did you receive a warm embrace?

A smile?

Did you buy something?

Are you reading this on your computer?

Did you go to work today?

Did you hear the laughter of a small child?

I can just go on and on naming things that we do on a day to day basis without even blinking an eye.  All these things have become so habitual that we don’t even realize how blessed we really are.  Seeing all that the Lord has given me leaves me speechless.  I live my life trying to do right and following where He leads, but I know I am not perfect, far from it. I am still very much a sinner, yet, He is still faithful and takes care of me and I can never be thankful enough.

2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

Today’s Challenge:
Write a list of 5 things that you want or think you really need and are praying for.
Now, for every 1 “want”, list 5 things that you already have that you are thankful for. Pray to the Lord for what you already have with thanksgiving and praise.  Remember He is faithful and loves you unconditionally.  He is so worthy of our praise.
 Today’s Challenger:
Leah has been happily married and military wife to her husband Joe (whom she met in kindergarten!) for almost 5 years.   She is new to the blogging world and blogs at MyFathersDaughter14.blogspot.com. about her everyday journey in Christ, marriage and encouraging others.   She has overcome severe anxiety which has brought her to the Lord and loves sharing her testimony in hopes of helping others with anxiety.  She works full time as an administrative assistant and hopes to one day receive the gift of children from the Lord.  She’s enjoyed writing since she was a child and loves that she is able to now write about our Loving and Almighty Heavenly Father.
