I like myself better when I’m not ungrateful.  But the truth is I find myself in that predicament far more than I care to admit.  This flesh and bone weighs down my spirit and light.

I need more Jesus.  The living Word, the God Son in a flesh suit, more of Him.

I need more prayer.  I need to pray more for my husband, children, home and community.

I need more Word.  I don’t think I can ever have enough of God’s Word.  I need more.  I want to never be satisfied.

Isaiah 26:3

New Living Translation (NLT)
“You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”

And then I think of those who don’t even have a Bible. I almost feel embarrassed that I live in a house with at least twenty. Yet so many people groups around the world do not even have one verse.

The secret to turning ungratefulness into joy is to focus our minds on God’s Word.  We need to literally eat the Word throughout our day.  When our human flesh says, “I don’t want to read the Bible again.”  We need to remind this sack of bones of the many who don’t have the living Word.  We are blessed.

Thankful challenge:

Meditate on Isaiah 23:6 for one entire day. From me to you, click here for a free Perfect Peace download from my site.  Hang this verse in places where you’ll see it throughout your day. Think of nothing else.  Every time another thought tries to come into your mind stop it with this word.  It will be hard at first.  But you’ll find with a little mental exercise you can do it.

Write down what God speaks to you. As you meditate on this verse throughout the day the Holy Spirit will speak to you.  When he does write down what He impresses upon you.  Whether it’s new found peace in a situation, another verse He brings up to you, or a direct word; write down what He says to you.

Pray.  Pray big prayers today.  Pray for OneVerse to translate the Bible into every language in the entire world.
