As we get closer to God, He takes His timing in showing us more and more of Himself. Every year I add more to the advent season.

In this walk it is a daily surrender to know God more and more.

I am still learning about the whole Advent celebration but have some great resources to share with you on what our family will be doing this year. I learned that Advent did start Nov 29 I am still gathering things together to make this year even more special in embracing the TRUE meaning of the season, the birth of Jesus Christ.

Here are few ways we will be celebrating together as a family.

This year we will be adding “What God Wants for Christmas Nativity Kit with Book and CD“. My 8 year old loves learning the stories about Jesus and this kit is packed with surprise after surprise for the whole families learning. It also comes with a CD packed full of voices to bring each person to life. A memory that I know will stay with them and help them share with friends who do not know Jesus yet.

We are using the Love Came Down Advent Calender from Daysprings to count down the days to Jesus. I am also still on the look out for a Advent Wreath that we might make or Ill buy, to light the candles every night while sitting down and reading the Jesse Tree Devotional from sweet Ann VosKamp.

The above is what we will be doing as a family as for Homeschool during our bible time we will be using Birth of Jesus from Grapevine. These come as books or e-books. They have a sale going on now.

My son loves to craft so we are adding  Truth in the Tinsel from sweet Amanda. This is packed with easy crafts that can be done every day till Christmas day and there are some alternative schedules if you run out of time in doing all the crafts.

These are just  few of what we will be doing this year to have a Christ-centered Christmas. I would LOVE to hear how you celebrate Advent in your home. Do you have special tradition that you do at this time of year?

Please leave a comment and share as we get ready to the TRUE meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
