Say Yes to God Week 1- Focusing on Our Walk

If you're new here, I would love to have you join our community. You can subscribe to my RSS feed or subscribe by email so you don't miss a thing!

One of the things that I love about walking with God is no matter how many times I fall, He is always there to pick me back up. I set out with good intentions of chasing after God but my flesh gets in the way more times then I would like.

To be content in our lives is to know God intimately and embrace the lives that we have in the now instead of waiting for the “next big thing” to come along.

I have always had the desire to be a stay at home mom and wife however when I got married 11 years ago my husband did not see my desires the same way. So over 9 years I worked and then in 04 I found a homebased business that I thought was the answer to my prayers because I could work and be a stay at home wife/mom.

6 years of an at home business would come to and end with God showing me that this is not what He had in store for me. He called me to be a daughter to the most High, wife and mother. That meant focusing on the task that God had in trusted me with.

It was scary at first because I was still learning how to walk with God. I wasn’t forsure that I could be a good wife and mother. I did learn that when you surrender your life to God, He always provides the way. When our relationship is solid with God everything else He has in trusted us with can be solid to.

I am going to help you over the next month to say YES to God with weekly challenges that draw you closer to Him. In our first week of Saying Yes to God Challenge we are going to focus on OUR WALKS. This is the mold that keeps everything together. When our walks are unshakeable, God can do amazing things in everything else He has in trusted us with.

The Lord laid Phil 2:14 on my heart for today’s post “Do ALL things without grumbling or complaining”  I personally feel this is where we have to start in our walks with God to be content right where we are. To not miss what God has called us to do.

Why you ask?

Because He already knows the plans He has for us. Have we embraced His plan or are we always looking for something else? To be content right where we are is to fall after God. Embracing the NOW keeps us on track with His plan and not getting ahead with our own plans.

God is the molder of our lives. When we take the time to let HIM mold us in to His image, our whole life will be transformed.

This week challenge:
is to spend more time with God. To get to know Him better. To be content with where He has you. To not grumble and complain. To talk with Him.

Here are 5 things that can be done with this weeks challenge to Say Yes to God in Our Walks:

1. Get up 30 min earlier then the family and spend time in Gods word.
Starting the day off with God is always the best medicine to a great day. I love to call this Date Morning with God. I always look forward to this time.

2. Confess any sin that is hindering God from working in our life.
When we take the time to confess out loud our sins, God is faithful and just to cleanse us of our unrighteous. Ask God to reveal in your  heart anything that is holding you back from embracing the life He has you in.

3. Pray about everything.
This is our direct line to Jesus. Spending time in asking Him to guide your steps in being content in the now will start the foundation of a solid walk.

4. Focus on what God has called us to do as Godly Wives and Mothers
This will help us to always keep our eyes on Jesus as wifes and mothers knowing what He expects of us.

5. Focus on doing the work God has called us to do until God moves us elsewhere.
Finding the JOY even in the difficulties of our lives right where we are keeps our eyes on Jesus.
