Wow we are on week 3 of the Saying Yes to God Challenge! How are you doing so far? How has God worked in YOU, YOUR MARRIAGE since starting the challenge? Please take a moment to share in the comments what God has done through this challenge.

Today we are going to focus on Saying Yes to God in OUR PARENTING!

 Psalm 127:3
Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward”

How do we say YES to God in our parenting? We let God write the story of being a mother instead of trying to create it ourselves. I know I am guilty of this.  I always dreamed of being a mom and told myself that I would be the best mother, then life got in the way and I FAILED terribly.

To be honest, I truly did not have the blueprints (Gods word) on motherhood to say any of those things. God is the creator of motherhood and He lays it out nicely!

How can we Say Yes to our children? We make them a priority. We treat them like they mean the world to us. We offer every bit of ourselves to them. We love them right where they are. We invest in them. We never give up on them. We tell them how much we love them. We make time for them. We set personal time with each child. We embrace that our children are our ministry. Most of all we are content with our life with them.

The world will tell us that children are a burden, they kill our dreams, they are pains, however when we believe what the world is spewing about our children, we are embracing the lie of the enemy. Keeping our eyes on Jesus always brings us joy in embracing the life HE has for us with our children!

This Week Challenge:
focuses on saying YES to things that bring joy to your children. Study them, learn their likes and dislikes, deeply. Dont let any distraction {computer, sleeping, cell phone, tv} come in the way of saying YES this week.

Here are some tips to help you to say YES to children this week:

1. Plan your days/time accordingly
I think for me this is my biggest weakness. When my days/time is not planned out,  saying NO to my children comes SO much easier because there are other things that MUST get done.

2. Start each day by spending time with God
This always helps to start out with God and then my attitude is ready to go for my children

3. Bend down eye level with each child and give them your FULL attention
This has made huge difference in both of my boys {14 & 9}, it shows them that what they have to say is very important, no matter what I am doing I stop and given them my full attention

4. Plan a special one on one time with each child
Taking time out to spend one on one time with your children truly does make a difference. It helps to build a relationship with them that is bonding. It also tells them that they are an important part of our life and we truly care what is going on in their life

5.  Have Family dinner nightly {if possible}
This is a time for the whole family to get together and talk about their days. It is a time for bonding as well in stealing how important family time really is

Lets stand up to the enemy and not let him dig is heals into our children. Being a mom is the one of the HIGHEST callings God can call us to be {in my opinion} and embracing it as a ministry will be forever changing in these precious little ones lives! Embracing the words “I will not let anything come between raising my children to TRUST and LOVE the Lord” will forever change how we look at raising our children.
