Job 1:21 “Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
And naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Have you ever had plans NOT go as planned? How did you handle it? Did it get the best of you or the worse of you?

This happened to my family this past weekend. All week we had planned to head to the beach for some baseball and family time.

NOTHING,

went as planned from the moment we woke up on Friday till we got home on Sunday evening.

Every corner we turned the door got slammed in our face. The day started off all packed up and ready to drive and my husband work did not have a form that was needed for my husband to be able to leave. {First door slammed shut} Needless to say are {plan} to leave at 9am fell through and we did not make it on the road until 2pm.

The drive down was nice, we did family devotion, talked and just excited to get on the beach. We arrive at the hotel only to find out we are NOT booked at the same hotel as the our baseball team. {Second door slammed shut} Again our {plan} to stay with the team did not work out and we are now 20  min away from team.

Finally we got on the beach at about 6pm to finally receive some peace. Something about the waves on the beach, wind blowing in my hair, and hearing the sea gulls that brings such a great peace that I was finally able to rest.

Next morning we get up for a 9am game only to find out when we get there are child was in the wrong uniform. {Third door slammed shut} At this moment I could NOT take another thing going wrong. Needless to say our {plan} to pay attention to text messages fell through.

Let me honest here with all this going on all weekend there were times that the enemy truly got ahold of my spirit and I did not talk in love to my husband or children and even got frustrated at times. I did not stay there long and I did apologies to my husband and children for letting the enemy get the best of me. And we all prayed as a family to overcome the trials.

I could not for the life of me figure out what was going on until Gods gentle spirit reminded me that “This is My day and you are to Rejoice in it! I have different plans for you then what you had planned. Let me guide you!”

The enemy was on the prowl this weekend to devour my marriage, and our family. However we took the time to seek the Lord and thank Him, Praise Him for the trials we were facing.

It was not a fun time and I will be honest I could NOT wait for it to end however was honored that God trusted us enough to let the enemy have his way with us this weekend. Though we failed more times then not, we did not stay there long and in the end we sought the Lord for our comfort and knew that He had our best interest at heart.

Isaiah 40:31” Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will  mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary”

Had there been a time in your life that NOTHING went right? Did you get sucked in to all the distractions or did you see it as Gods divine intervention?

Would love to hear your about your trials in the comment section!
