field trip

Back in July we took our yearly vacation and made a stop in KY to tour the Creation Museum.

WOW is all I can say if you have never been.

This is our 2nd year of Homeschooling and Peyton is a hands on learner. Attending a field trip always teaches him a lot because of the experience he gets from the trip.

We take a field trip once a month to keep Peyton on his toes. Being apart of the experiences really helps him to soak in all the information about what we are learning.

One of Peyton’s favorite things about our field trip learning to the Creation Museum was dad wrote up questions through out the field trip for him to answer later on.

This really helps him to PAY ATTENTION to what he is learning through out the trip because he has NO idea what questions dad would come up with.

Here are a few tips of having a successful learning experience at a field trip:

  • Prepare them with a journal. Encourage them to take notes through out the field trip so they don’t forget anything.
  • Take your time through the field trip. If being rushed tons of learning can be missed.
  • Ask questions along the way. This helps with critical thinking about what they are learning.
  • Take lots of pictures. Going back through pictures of field trips helps to bring back information that might have forgotten.

Here are some pictures from our awesome trip through the Creation Museum.
