Homeschool Private School

Psalm 37:23 “The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way”

Believe it or not one of the most common questions I get from people, is why I homeschool one child and one is in Private School.

I can already see the disappointment in their eyes as if I am picking one child over the other.

I then search my thoughts because I have to answer this so often that it gets frustrating. However the Lord has showed me to embrace these moments as a way to share with others why are paths look the way they do.

Now I talk about it with joy.

People truly want to know why we make the decisions we do. It is such a great way to share Jesus with them!

If you have been following this blog long you know some about my life but I do not think that I have shared with YOU where the Lord has us with our children.

All my kids went to public school. No I did not start out with the knowledge that I was going to Homeschool any of my children. That was totally a God thing!

When my son Wade, who is the middle son of three boys, was in the 6th grade entering Middle School we had the most awful expereince.

Wade started off with A’s & B’s then the second semester he dropped down to D’s & F’s.

We could not figure out what was going on. There was no drastic changes to our family lives, he wasn’t going through any rebellion. We would ask him everyday what in the world was going on.

Well to make a long story short there were some mean kids picking on him at school and the teachers or school was doing nothing about it. One day Wade broke, and him and another kid got into it.

After dealing with that situation and the way the school did not care that my son was falling behind, a change HAD to take place. We started praying to see what the Lord would have us do. Homeschool was prayed about as well a Private Christian School.

After praying over that summer the Lord opened the door for us to take Wade to a Private School. I will say at that time I was relieved because I do not think I was ready to start homeschooling at that time. I would have but I don’t feel I was ready.

Wade enters 7th grade at the Private School. We embraced Gods plan and went with it.

It would be 2 years later before Homeschool would be visited again however it would be for my youngest son.

We lifted up the same prayer to our Lord to see if Peyton would be homeschooled or attend the same Private School as Wade. God made it very clear with Peyton that he was to be homeschooled. Not one door opened for him to attend that Private School.

I embraced the Lord plan and here we sit about to start our 3rd year of Homeschool.

What God has taught me through this whole walk is that His plans are different for each one of our children. We may think we have the plans for our children all figured out however I am here to tell you that we are not even close. When we give our children back to God, His plan becomes clear.

Proverbs 16:9 “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps”

God had a plan for our children before they were born. When we as the parents embrace that God has a different plan for each child it makes carrying on Gods plan much easier.

Much Prayer is needed to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus to embrace each child’s path.

We as mom definitely feel we know what is best however the truth is God knows what is best. Seeking Him for each child will insure that we embrace every moment no matter how different it looks.

Remember sisters God loves our children more then we do, when we stop and think about that how can that be? We love our children alot. So magnify that by 1 million. That’s how much more God loves them.

Hold fast that seeking God for each child will help grow them in their walk with Christ.
