Good Morning sisters! The summer is almost coming to and end and our 2011-2012 school year is about to start. It has been a blessed summer for us and I hope for you too.

This will be our first year Homeschooling and I will tell you the Lord has given me such peace about doing this that I am getting so EXCITED to get started. The thing I am most excited about is, that I will be learning right along side my son. God has BIG plans for us both and I can not wait to see what they are.

I know there are some “newbies” that are Homeschooling for the first time this year as well so I wanted to take the time out to share with you what curriculums we will be using this year and help you feel at ease getting started.

I will only have 1 child at home (my 8 year old, 3rd grader) my older son (14) attends a private Christian School and we have not felt that the Lord wants us to pull him out so we are not messing with things this year and continue to pray Gods will over both children.

I will say that the #1 thing that was over whelming for me was “picking out curriculum”. There are SO many to choose from that narrowing it down is almost impossible. My suggestion to you if you are having this same issue is PRAY, PRAY, & PRAY some more. God lead me right where we needed to be and everything has come together with peace. You know your child better then anyone and getting suggestions from other HS moms and doing your research will insure that you will find what is best for your child.

I will say that I went with Biblical based curriculum’s instead of secular. The reason that we are Homeschooling is so that it gives us “more” time to teach Gods truth. In selecting Biblical based curriculum we are always on Gods truth through all or most of the subjects. Not to mention I will be learning at the same time Peyton is learning.

So please meet Peyton “Mr Determination”
(3 grader)

(He is my do it till I get it right child. He loves to play baseball, swim, hang out with his brother and friends. He doesnt like to be told he cant do something. He tries his hardest and never gives up. He always has enough energy to last for days. He loves to explore and see what God has in store for him.)

I also wanted to share with you a blog that is my new BFF, Confessions of a Homeschooler. She has been a HUGE help to me and she writes her own curriculum. 2 of which I listed above. Please stop by and let her know I sent you.

What is your curriculum line-up for next year? I’d love to hear what others are doing! And Ill be praying that you all have a wonderful homeschooling journey!
